From different viewpoints, experts and professionals from various fields and disciplines (theorists, professors, curators, urbanists, artists...) will discuss the influence that art in public spaces has on their social interactions and communication. The aim is to establish a connection between theoretical reflection and artistic practice as well as to inspire a discussion and an exchange of ideas and positions between speakers, artists and the public.
Themed Ethics for artists. the first conference day is dedicated to the ethical positioning of the artist regarding the social, political and economic conditions of his/her activities and the discussion on the question of whether it is necessary to produce art in certain places. These topics will be addressed by
contributions from Vesna Vukovic (HR), Monica Ross (UK) and the artists invited to carry out the interventions.
The motto Technologies, Institutions and Legality of the second conference day tackles aspects such as direct action, interventions in public space and the borderline between legality and illegality, the practice of walking through the city as an aesthetical exercise, and the use of new technologies and traditional methods of creating communicative and artistic spaces in an urban area. Mirjam Struppek (DE), Stéphane Bauer /Adrian Nabi (DE)) as well as members of the group La Fiambrera Obrera (the worker’s lunchbox) Javier Rodrigo Montero y Jordi Claramonte (ES) will participate in the discussion.
